Media and democracy - Twitter could make a difference
DATELINE: 9/9/10Enough is more than enough. Ordinary members of the public like me are increasingly alarmed by the growth of powerful media corporations like News International, who can make or break governments and individuals. DATELINE: 8/9/10David Cameron's relationship with the news media sparked a lively discussion between the blogger and broadcaster Iain Dale and Nicholas Jones, author of 'Campaign 2010: The Making of the Prime Minister', when they debated the issue at a recent meeting hosted by the National Union of Journalists.
BBC chief talks to No 10 about selling the cuts
DATELINE: 5/9/10The director-general of the BBC has been accused of risking the corporation's editorial independence after it emerged that he attended a private Downing Street meeting to discuss coverage of Government spending cuts. Mark Thompson met with one of Mr Cameron's most senior aides to discuss offering senior Government figures prominent exposure on BBC channels in the coming weeks.
